Murray: Somehow I don't seem to be missing out on the cold weather. I've been watching you guys, ever since my brother told me about the +17 C mid night Christmas Eve. On average It has been a lot colder here in SW Ontario. We were into the -20's C here last week. Some of the residents here actually blame me for bringing NS weather with me.

I landed here March 1, 2002, they had enjoyed a beautiful Dec, Jan and Feb. I think something like only 10 nights with frost in the 3 months. March, April and May of 2002 were the coldest on record. Just a typical NS spring,"SIX WEEKS ROUGH SLEDDING". Last winter was one of the steadiest and coldest in many years. This winter is beginning to act much the same, been snowing here for 4 days. I've been expecting to get offered a free move back to the Maritimes.

It has been very cold here lately but seems back to normal now. We are rather far behind in our snowfall though. SAm in NS

Hugh,
I hope you don't plan on making any moves to Northern Ontario..... I could not handle any temps below the -45C we have been having! That's -50F with a translator. We've finally warmed up to -25C yesterday. No snow during -45c, so the Cub has been resting in the shop.

Brrrrr rr.!

Hugh, I would suggest that being the alleged "Primarycarrier of cold weather", that you time your trips to Arizona and other places to more coincide with some of their more unbearable heat waves. You would then be Most Welcome, that is if you stay just long enough to cool things down. Just another dreadful thought here Hugh, If you were to make that Mars trip with me, you could , by your very absence here, contribute to the Global Warming scare here on earth. BTW, I went to an auction sale yesterday in a snowstorm to look at a Farmall 656 and other items thinking that with the inclimate weather that there would be less people to bid against. Well, I had to park at least a half mile or more away, and the line of pickups got even longer behind me, and everything I went to look at sold for far more than I was willing to bid. I guess in cold snowy weather, auctions are just another way to pass time for a LOT of people. Oh yes, I did come home with a $5.00 bicycle.

Paul: The $5.00 bicycle could be used on Mars. From what I see in this Great Lakes region both sides of the border, a lot of people would look down at you with a $5.00 bike.

I will try to do better on that spread of cold weather. It just hit me but maybe that is the reason US customs tend to give me a hard time. Of ten truck loads of cabbage we took to Detroit and Springfield, the other guys ziped through less than a minute, even during high alert. The two loads I took, I had to go to broker and spent 2 to 3 hours there. How is the weather in MI by the way?

Hugh, As near as I can tell, our weather is just about the same as what you are getting right now. Today it was about 17F at noon. That bicycle has already gotten me in trouble. I mentioned to the missus that she would resemble Elvira Gulch if she were to ride it. Not a good choice of words.

EZ: You need not, concern yourself on that one. To start with I couldn't hack what you are already getting, and Lord forbid that I may make it worse. I was actually thinking Arizona, but with the reputation they probably wouldn't want me.
