I just received the following message about a tractor I have for sale on YT. Thank you for the detailed description. I think I will have to take your mword for it. I will have to make do with the price as I am very keen about this purchase. Please keep other buyers off. I am presently in west africa,Nigeria visiting my folks. In order to get the money to you in USD I will instruct a client who owes me money in the US to issue a cashier's check to you if that's alright with you. The check will however be an overdraft since what I am owed is more than the purchase price.I just want to know if I can trust you to send me the balance when the check clears. The check will be made out to the tune of 6,500 dollars, so I will need you to deduct the 3,000 dollar purchase price and remit my balance via western union money transfer. Then I will get a reliable shipping company to come and help me get the item. Sending cash from this part of the world would be too costly for me. I hope you had a merry christmas and a happy new year. Please reply if my method of payement is ok by you. WALE SCOTT First of all let's get something straight here. I was not born yesterday, and I consider myself very honest. Has anyone actually fell for one of these deals? and if so what happened? These guys must know that they are dealing with fairly honest people or they could be the one took to the cleaners. Does a check actually come and does someone come after the tractor? Is there any way you could lure these bastards into a trap of their own doing? let me know of your exsperience and thoughts.

I got into the same scam with this guy a few months ago over an engine that I have for sale. When I heard all the stuff about writting me a check for over the amount and me sending him the rest I told him that I did not want to get involved in that part and never heard from him again.

This is a very popular scam, and the people who are running it are paying off the nigerian government so they have free reign to scam the whole world. Do not reply.
Check this web site about the scam, and tell others about the scam.

Chad, Why waste valuable space in an ad. We all (at least most of us) know the scam. I say just ignore them or if you feel really fiesty, to tell em "Bring it on, you morons, our authorities are waiting for you" Odds are you wont hear from that one again. What amazes me is that there is anyone who is so antsy to sell their item, be it tractors or otherwise, that they would be sucked in to such a scam in the first place. Why would someone cut a faceless foreigner more slack than they would their own cousin Jim Bob.

they have no intention of coming after the tractor and they realy don't care what you do with their check. It is BOGUS. Don't even reply to these emails. It only confirms your existance.
