Sorry guys but in central Illinois late 53 amd 54 SH are real scarce. I have purchased one of each, no paint, rotten tires, but engines with new rings, valve grind, and new rod bearings for 2200 and 1800 and was glad to get each. I have an advanced collector waiting to buy 54 when done.

IH made about 10000 Stage 2 Super H's, in 1954 and late 1953. Live hydraulics and battery under the seat, along with other minor differences make them more valuable to collectors than H's and Stage 1 Super H's. $2000, maybe slightly more, for the one you describe (IF it is as the seller describes) is not out of line. If all you want is a straight H, then $1500 probably should be the max for a similar tractor. Unless it has a wide front, it doesn't need power steering, so I would not pay more for one simply because it has aftermarket power steering.

maybe $1200 - $1500 if it is that good. I just gave $1000 for an H with new rear rubber, repainted a few years back and supposedly overhauled but it has the wrong valves in it.

My son just bought a 300 for $1400... good TA, motor is ok, but the gentleman was a honest man who told us that it had a click in the rear end. We saw 300's on an auction with bad TA's go for $2000.
