when I take my 806 and run it and start off slowly the TA is slow to shift into direct and when I cramp the steering it will shift back into TA and when I straighten it out it will shift back into direct. I have a feeling it is the hand pump and it is getting weak.

Your mcv pump is not doing it's job , the pump could be wore out or it could be the pressure reg.and a bunch of weak springs in the mcv body . Run a pressure test and see just what ya have , i like to set them up to around 245 to 265 . Then there is the chance that you have a problem starting in the T/A where it is bypassen and that is why you don't have the flow and pressure that is needed to hold in high.

Can be mcv pump week. Steering has priority over anything else. Could be week TA. Take a pressure test of your mcv.
