Fellas. Just a stark reminder.....Askin is one thing..... ...Gettin is quite another. If it weren't that way, I'd have had a lot more raises in my time. It ain't that I didn't ask.

Aside from the fact that this should be in the classifieds, just because he wants what he has in it is no reason to behave in an unseemly fashion. I've my opinions about it too but I keep them off the board. I, for one, hope he gets it as it makes mine worth that much more in the long run. A decent restoration would cost that in parts, let alone the cost of a base tractor. Let's try to keep this board (and the others) a fun place to visit. My two bits...Zak out...*

Thank you Zak. My sentiments exactly. Like my mother used to say. If you don't have something nice to say then don't say it.

I have a H that I rebuilt the motor,cleaned-up and painted and I will be lucky to got 1200. dollars for,However I have a friend who just paied 6500.00 to rebuild one,It's perfect and better than new. There is a difference in what some people call rebulding.I dont agree with putting that much money into a Farmall H,but some can afford it,and some one will come along and by it.

If they start bringing that kind of money I better start buying them now by the dozen, quit my job and go full time on restoring. If you find a buyer willing to pay that you better keep telling yourself that its immoral to let a fool keep his money!

The 1948 H that dad drove home new from the dealership, and we restored a few years ago, brought $3500 (every option except WF) on auction this past summer. I was the high bidder (sentimental value) but that means someone else was willing to go $3450. Although, $4850 is probably kind of high.

I rebuilt a 1951 H a few years back (my article in the YT archives). I felt very lucky to get $3,000 out of it. I doubt he will get an offering over $2,500.

Scott,

You must have made a mistake. You said $4850.

You must have meant $1850, right?

Regards,

Allan

Allen, No he meant 4850.00. Just another dreamer I guess. If its slick $1850 to $2000 is probably right on the money. Whats sad is someone may pay that much. lol

First, use the classifieds or photo classifieds. Second, good luck - I can't even get $2500 out of my H and all it needs is a $100 paint job!

Too many H's out there to be collectible, except for 39's, some war years, or special options. (Wish mine had the low-low first gear and higher 4th gear!)
