Ebay has a planter drive for sale (item number 2587292811)for a Super A or A, but I'm not sure it's really fits a Super A or A. Something about the drive lug on the planter desn't look right. Can anyone check it out and let me know if you think it will fit a Super A?

Thanks
Pete

gene, I must have had that setup on my 49 Super A prior to getting the tractor. I am missing the dommed cover on the inside housing, was wondering if you had an extra you would want to sell? Thanks.

I think there is a special nut that replaces the nut on the axle that needs to go with this drive.

Will Sick....Any idea what the part number might be for the special nut? Would the purpose of the special nut be to engage the lugs on the planter drive shaft? Would you figure that the special nut would have to be removed from the tractor before the regular domed dust cover can be re-installed on the tractor? ( if so maybe that's why mine is missing)

Pete- I checked on my planter drive and this is what I learned: It is not a special nut. There is what appears to be a longer fine threaded bolt or cap screw. Beneath the bolt and washer there is another washer about a quarter of an inch thick with 4 ears sticking out to mesh with the planter drive. This longer bolt with the washers beneath it may be enough to prevent the regular cap from going on; I'm not sure. Actually what I'm looking at is a drive that I took off from a B farmall that I bought for junk. It looks like the one on ebay except it doesn't have the double sprocket on it.
