I plugged a one way (single action) cylinder
on my 450. attached to to upper rear port and outside
control handle does drive cylinder out, but none of the handles will allow cylinder to close. i read the book several times and changed the indexing bushings to both positions. please give me some hints.

If you have a check valve on the back as Dave said you should us 2 way cylinder. You will not push it back by hand.

On end of rear steel lines do you have a block
bolted to the block at end of lines that is used
with fast hitch? If so its a check, could be the trouble if you are tied into that port.

The weight of the implment will make the cylinder return and forse the oil back into the tractor.
