Thinking of buying another one!

Can't decide what to look for, though. I have two tractors now, but the little Ford 1520 utility is my hard working main tractor around the place and doesn't count for this forum. My only collector tractor is my MTA gas powered Farmall. I like it a lot and use it a lot in the summer. I want to restore it but it is pretty much a field tractor right now and can't afford to get too pretty. I am thinking I want a second tractor that can be used a little around the place but could also be repainted etc. I have toyed with the idea of buying another MTA but maybe should consider another model. What are the most desirable models in red tractors? If you could only have a few tractors, what would you buy?

I have a M F 235. It is a handy little tractor. Half way in on the clutch stops transmission and all the way in stops everything else (p.t.o. and hydraulics). For what I do, I probably use it the most. I have an M that I use for the little bit heavier pulling and sometimes as a loader tractor. I have 2 H's. One fixed up that I use pretty much only for the easy and cleaner jobs and the other rusty H is on full steel and I use it for the ruffer jobs. I also have a restored F-20 that I hardly ever use (just for parades). I like having different multiple size tractors. If you are only going to have 4 or 5 tractors, I would recommend that they are different sizes and fitting for something you can use them for.

Look for a "C" or Super C. Nice driving tractor.

I'd find a Super W-6TA. Rare but not all that pleasant to ride. I've got my grandfathers SW-6, its a nice tractor but the seat leaves something to be desired

I would buy 3 Hs, 1 M, and 1 I-4. Wait a minute, I already own those tractors. Guess it's time to start looking for something differant.

Dave: I immediately thought of green or white. A guy asked me to do a bit of tractor work one day with his nice new 4x4 Deere. I said to my wife, I cant wear these Farmall hats on that job, so I dug out my only green hat, yup green red and yellow.

I don't know what to make of green, red, & white!
Sounds like a flag of Italy not a tractor!
Your a Farmall guy, what's the holy grail of Red?

If you want a good tractor to do some work that doesn't include hydrolics, then I would go with an 88 Oliver with the 3 3/4 inch pistons in it. I am restoring mine right now, and it hasn't costed me that much so far. I'm an IH guy, but for quitness and smaller jobs, I will go fire up the 88 over the 560. For larger jobs, I think that a 460 or a 560 would be a good tractor. Your pick though. Good luck!!
