If you go to oldoakfarmalls.com you can listen to a W-9 with a straight pipe to see if you like it. You can access it from the tractor links on this site.

THAT WAS FANTASTIC !!!
I used to do audio studio work at college in the 70's and I know the equipment stunk compaired to what is out there now. I put all of the sound samples in my Tractor favorites file and will put them on a CD to send my dad. He has a 300U 460 And a 1929 Bull dog MACK. Thanks!

Origanally had mufflers, won't hurt the engine, but may blow out your ears

The owners manual for my SMTA lists a muffler under options.Quote: The laws of most cities prohibit the use of a tractor without an exhaust muffler in residential districts or near hospitals and schools because the roar of an open exhaust is disturbing and objectional.End Quote. There is also a straight pipe option as well as a spark arrester. When I read this I was thinking mabe they shipped the tractor with just the short pipe and let the dealers make the bucks.Just a thought.Paul.
