Is there any way to get stuck ring loose without tearing the engine apart? Can I squirt something down the spark plug holes to soak? ie; marvel mystery oil, PB or something else? This tractor was overhauled but sat for a while inside[2 yrs] before being started. It starts right up and runs great but smokes a lot on idle. Thanks for any ideas. Andy

Andy, I would try "Kroil" oil. As far as I'm concerned they make nothing better. ED

I would try PB Blaster, or Marvel Mystery oil. I used PB to get the W9 engine loose, then used Marvel Mystery oil in the engine oil while running and the rings eventually came loose.

A few cycles of warm up and cool down can also break a ring loose...
