It's 2:14 AM and I'm almost off to work. Just called the bank's digital thermometer up in Norwich (6 miles away) and got -14 F! For those that have never experienced this kind of cold - just think about walking outside and having all your nose hairs freeze instantly. Yippee-ki-yay. (trying to control my enthusiasm..... how am I doing?)

If it ever got that cold here, there would be a baby boom in Virginia.

Why did humans and other animals ever decided to migrate north of the temperate zones anyway?
I'd move south if I hadn't created a branch of the family in Wisconsin. Now, I just rely on the snow blower and the long underwear. Think spring!

It was -2 here in CT this morning. Called my brother Darrell and my other brother Darrell in Vermont, and one had -20 and the other -25. When I lived in Vermont, I remember it being -40 for about a week in Feb every year. Sometimes it would go a week or two when it never got above 0 day or night. One time we were all standing at the shop door waiting for the forman to open the Ford dealership, and the thermometer said -38. One guy complained that it was too cold to work, so the boss slid the glass up in the bracket so it said -20 and said "there, it's warmer now, so get to work". Much nicer here is SOUTHERN new england. We emphasize the southern in the winter.

Sometimes we pray it will get as warm as -14! A few days ago I woke up at 6 am and checked the temp and it was -28 F. When I was in high school I saw the thermometer at -37 F and had to go out and do chores in a blizzard yet!

I don't know you might want to tone it down a might, you sound a bit too excited yet.

You do it in a hurry, at -70 it will freeze before it hits the ground. Best to go inside even if in the cab in a coke bottle.

Got so cold one winter it took 3 of us to keep the wood stove going. 2 to carry in the wood and 1 to put it in the stove.

Sold out and moved south.
