Made reservations for the wife and I today. Couldn't get anything in Mount Pleasent but we're close. Seems they are all booked already. We're bringing my '48 H. This will be my first national show and we're really looking forward to it. See ya'll there!

If all the hotels in Mt. Pleasant are booked the Burlington is only about 20 minutes east of Mt. Pleasant and should have alot of hotel rooms. Fairfield is 25 miles west of Mt. Pleasant on hwy 34 and has a Best Western Inn (800-528-1234) and a Super 8 Motel (800-800-8000). Iowa City is about 30 minutes north of Mt. Pleasant and should have alot of hotel rooms as well. If you are close and can spend a day there you will be glad you did.

Had fun at the 2003 roundup, but Iowa is so far away, I dont even know where it is. Probably 3 or 4 days from here. Guess I'll wait until it comes further east again.

Street atlas says 1160 miles, and 21 hours. If I get a newer truck, will consider it.

I'm still watching for a slide-in camper. I'll sleep under the pickup if I have too!

There are campgrounds for anything you mite have from tents to 300,000 motor homes and more room than can be filled showers ect grounds cover probably 200A or more STEAM TRAINS ELECTRIC TRAINS and a large collection of engines old machines great place for a show come early and stay late as this is the site of THE OLD THRESHERS RENUNION has been going on for 50yrs or so. Have been to lots of RED POWER SHOWS and this is the best place you could find for one. Pass the word and come on down.

Thanks for the invite Gene. I plan on being there this year if I can talk my wife and 14 year old daughter into it. I may have to tell them we are heading to the mall and just set the cruise and don't let off till we get to Iowa.
