I was given a cub tractor a couple of days ago from a friend. He thinks it may be a 1947 or 48. I have been all over this thing looking for a serial # plate or a stamped in number. No luck. All I can find are casting numbers. I have looked where the manual tells you to look. Again no luck. Is there any other way I can identify the year of this thing or is there any who lives in or near Hagerstown, MD who can look at it and tell the year. Any and all help will be very much appreciated.

Read the casting code on the engine or some of the major castings. Post it here and we can tell you the year the month, day and year the casting was made.

1953 unless the block's been changed, then 1952. A 1953 could have parts cast in '52 or earlier, cast late in the year or sat in the pile waiting to be assembled. '53 's you best bet.

T = 1950
U / V not used
w = 1951
x = 1952
y = 1953
