The 203 combine had the same motor as the 504 tractor a C-153, no sleeves in the block. I think the 93 combine also used the same motor. I owned a 203 back in the mid 1970's. The motors are the same in the combine as in the tractor except on the combine they had the rpm's set up at 2540 and the 504 tractor set at 2200 rpm.

The Farmall 504 came with a 46hp C-153 engine. Some combines and other equipment used the same engine.

It may be a 153ci combine engine,, it is simular to the SC and like size tractors. I think you find those engines in the old #92 combines as well. the 504 had a 135 I belive,, The later models may have had the 153,, I am not for sure about that.. Chad

Chad: To start with all 504 gassers had the 153 engine from factory. The C-135 was only used in the 340, 404, etc. and never in the SC.

The Super C had a 123 engine right? Is the a-b engines the same basic engine as the c? Chad

Chad; Originally the A, B and C all had the C-113 engine. The Super A used the same in early models. After the Super C came out with C-123 which was only a slight modification of the C-113, so it would take larger sleeves. From there on C-123 was used in SC and the new block with thicker sleeves was used in SA to give 113 cu in. The last 1,957 SA used the C-123 engine and were called SA1.

I have a IT manual which covers C-123 and C-135 engines, and near as I can see they are the same block, or very close.I have been involved in some discussions re: putting C-135 engines in SA, SC, 100, 200, 130, 230, etc. Depends on where the C-135 engine came from, some applications used a crank that will not match flywheel - clutch assembly. There is one guy posts regularly here at YT is converting a C-123 in a Farmall 100 to a C-135. He and I went through this item by item and the only differences we could find were not in castings, but rather sleeves, pistons, some moving parts in head and settings.

The 153 was also in a 275 and 375 swather, I know the crank in the engine needed a pilot bearing installed along with a hole for the bearing in order to install in tractor. I don't know the difficulty in doing this. Unless they changed over the crank.

Dave,
I installed a 153 combine in a Super A. It will work, but you have a few modifications. I used a 404 clutch and pressure plate. I had the flywheel machined and installed a 300 pilot bearing in the flywheel.
I then took a drive shaft out of another A just in case I messed up and cut it down to fit.
Everything went in perfect...except the air cleaner. Still have not figured that out yet since the A filter mounts on the block and the combine engine has no provision for this. I doubt if that would be the case on a 505.
I did have to raise the fuel tank and radiator a little to fit...again the 504 should not have this problem.
The extra RPM makes the A a hotrod...bet the 504 will go like crazy too.
My two cents....
