I have a question concerning the throw out bearing in a cub which my brother in law is restoring. Is the bakelite like centre of the bearing supposed to turn in the outer casing or is it fixed and turns against the clutch fingers. We have never seen one like this before and would appreciate any advice which could be given. Thank you, Bryan.

The "bearing" is a graphite block. Nothing turns.

The ones I've seen just have a wear surface that doesn't turn. Not sure what the material is. They can get some serious wear on them. Cub's the only tractor I've seen them on.
