There is a tractor for sale in the photo ads that is advertised as a farmall BN with a wide front. Is this an option or an aftermarket ad on ? The pic show a professional type front end, doesn't look shoemakered up. Never heard of this? Irv

Hey I was plowing snow with my Dads BN with a wide front today. From the torque tube back its a BN. It can cause some real good discussions at some of the tractor show. And some people get down right MAD! about the whole deal.

The tag under the seat reads Model BN FABN 68375.
That's the primary raeason I call it a Model BN. The tractor is obviously not original from the factory with the wide front. That's why I call it a BN with Wide Front. We bought it this way in the mid 80's so don't know the history. I would guess the entire front from the front of the engine forward is from an A. I went thru it in 88/89. It's been kept up and running but not seen any real work since being restored. It is not at all shoemakered up. Everything fits up well. It's a real solid machine and runs better than new. No smoke, rock steady oil pressure, real stout motor, no cracks or weld repairs. It's all Farmall. The two bull pinion drive housings in back are the same length. The left rear wheel is set away from the operator. The current wheel base in back is 72 in.

You see setups like you describe in ginsing country- didn't look at the ad, ginsing tractors have mufflers that run along the hood, not straight up or underneath.

Take a close look at that picture. It shows a wide rear axle on the left side of the tractor. A BN would have a short axle housing on the left like the A. For all the work he's done, he hasn't read the ID tag.

Accutaly it would have the same axle on both sides. It is the same axle as an A or superA. The long axle. The wide front is off of an A or like tractor. (A, Super A, 100, 130, or 140)

Somebody stuck it on after it left the factory. Wouldn't be hard to do, an A front end and grill would bolt right on.

Sorry, I didn't see your post until this morning Bill. No snow or sleet here lately, but it's been raining since Sunday morning.

i believe a front end off an A will interchange with a B or BN.
