I had to add some weight on my '40 H so I could safely haul round bales. Here's what I ended up with, and it sure is ugly.

The weight and brackets are off of a 4020 JD. It bolted right up using 3 bolts on each side of the frame rail. Total cost - about $3 for the bolts.

Included a link to Red Power for more pictures of the tractor and bale carrier.

Doubt that the horses and cows will notice.

I agree 100%. Why do people butcher up good hoods like that. They do and will fit under the hood. Go buy a $3.00 belt and let the tin snips rust in the tool box.

Hey, as long as it works, who cares? If you were to shoot some red on that you would have a grat push-bar for dead equipment!

I understand your pride in being able to fix a problem with stuff you have on hand. Isn't that why we all accumulate the stuff we do - just to solve a problem we haven't had yet? Dick Davis
