I recently purchased an old Farmall grader, it looks to be factory built, but, is in pretty rough condition, I thought about starting on it as a restoration project, And I am sure it is salvagable, but, I now see, that it is more than I want to tackle, I think it is all there, as near as I can tell, And It looks like an M, with a grader front end added on, does anyone know anything about these, and are they rare, I've been around farm machinery all my life, and this is the first one I have ever seen.
Thanks

Denny - Punch below for a photo of a Trojan grader based on a Farmall M. I've seen 2 or 3 of them at shows around here the past couple of years. I believe these were assembled at the Trojan plant in Batavia NY.

Thanks Bob,
Were on the right track, mine is made a little different, but, it is the same basic concept, mine has no cab, and the orginal paint was red, that one appears to have an enclosed front end, where mine is open, and just looks like heavy channel iron, but, there pretty much the same idea.
Thanks again

I've got one that I bought and restored. Mine is a American #8 powered by an M. From what I've learned the #8 is the size of the overall grader.(someone wrote in to this site and had a #6 powered by an H) The one I have was made by American Road Equipment Co. out of Omaha Neb. From what I can learn there were other companies that made them also. As far as color I stuck to Farmall Red, but I understand they were military OD and also yellow. It orginally came with dual rear wheels and had some sort of cab or cover over the operator. I use mine on the farm, grading pasture roads and building terraces ect. It works great, as long as you take it slow and have ten acres to turn around in! Search the archives under "grader" I think at one time there were some other commentary on them.

Thanks Keith,
Yours sounds like the one I have, I'll have to get some numbers off it and see what I can come up with, I don't have any plans to use this one, I just wanted to use it for shows and such, but i have so many other projects, I don't know when I would find the time to work on it, anyway, thanks for the information, I'll see if she has any numbers on her, and do some more research, I'm guessing, there aren't too many of them left.
Thanks again
Denny
