I have been slowly restoring my 44 bn(too many tractor projects at one time!)runs well and starts right up etc.but smokes badly when its warmed up.oil runs down exhaust pipe, smoke is white not blue, and smells like oil burning.higher the r.p.m.,the worse it smokes.any ideas on what could be wrong before i tear it apart?valves ,rings etc?i put in some marvel mystery oil awhile ago thinking it might free up something, but hasnt helped.any input appreciated.

That sounds to me like a leaky head gasket. Chemistry does not lie. White smoke is water, blue is oil and black is gas. The oil you see is probably what you sprayed in it and your smelling it burn from the exhaust pipe. Sounds like the water is getting enough pressure after it heats up to find its way into the cylinders. It doesn't take much to make a lot of smoke.

I have a 1940 B that was blowing white smoke out the pipe but it turned out to be antifreeze. So I was forced to tear it all down and order all new parts. Actually I could have gotten by just retorqueing the head I think. I was also told that the head could have rusted out in a exhaust port.
