It was sure nice having help from my son today. Not to mention Emmy Lou and Broomer ;-)! A bumper crop of leaves this year. I'm not sure that Mr. McCormick knew what all this would lead to! Thank you Cyrus!!!! Happy New Year everyone!

Snowmobiling all afternoon, put on around 100 miles just cruising the country, looking at the scenery and wildlife. No trails in my area so we have to forge through the 2 foot deep powder. Tons of fun!

took my 1963 806 to the local paint guy to have it repainted. Helped him take the tin work off and get the tractor ready for final cleaning. Sure am ancious to get this tractor repainted and ready for some field work and a parade or 2 and the old farm tractor day down the road in May. You can see this tractor if you go to "google" and type in 1963 806 and it will tell about the tractor I first started farming with in 1970. Will post a new picture when the job is completed.

I started out taking apart the baffles on our wood burning stove... then swept the chimney, vacuumed out the dust, and put everything back together and finished up.

Then I put some molasses in the cylinders of our rusted up 1963 IH I-404. Let that cook for the new year.... or longer.

Lastly, I spent the afternoon cutting off some frozen-up muffler clamp bolts on my Ford 3000 and getting that squared up. What a job. You can't open the left hood on these tractors until you get that muffler out of there! Sure thank my wife for the new air cut-off tool she got me for Christmas.

Happy New Year to everyone!

Spent the day draining the transmission on the Super M. Got lots of ice, water and finally oil and ice. 16 gallons of crap so far. Get more kerosene tomorrow for the heater to continue.

Hi All!. What a day for Central Texas. Started out in the mid to upper 60s @ 6:00 this morning topped out at about 74 this evening. Spent the day in shorts and T-shirt....B-B-Q-ing brisket and pork ribs.
Thanked The LORD for all that is well with Me, My family, Friends, Country.....Asked for more of HIS Grace for all of the above mentioned.
I also asked for an extra porition of HIS Grace for All Ya'll.
May this New Year be good for every one!
Later,
John A.

It was a beatiful day here in Western Nebraska today. I spent all day crouched in between the right rear wheel and frame of my 5488 MFWD trying to get the broke off bolt out of the range shift arm linkage. I don't have a clue how it could have sheared off so easy but I know its been a bear to work on. I ended up just drilling it out and then I was going to tap it out but can,t get to it good enough to tap it. It's up under the cab. Guess I'll have at least another fun day working on it.

Happy New Year,
Dan

Beautiful day up here on the NY/PA border. Spent the morning with my wife and 16 month old grandson; he's a tractor nut already. Thinks that all his kids' books should have pictures of tractors in them. Anyway, this afternoon I freshened the anti-freeze in my 48 JD A and took it a couple of miles up the road and back to circulate everything. By the way, the JD A shares the barn with a Farmall Super C, Farmall Super H, a Ford 8N and a JD B. And just outside the barn is a 54 Louisville Super M waiting in line to get some work done so it can stay in the barn too!

Happy New Year to everyone.

Changed the fuel filters & cleaned water trap on the Super M-TA-D. Those old canister filters& little gaskets & all the bleeding of air -I think i'd rather dig ditch.

I found a neighbor that's 80 yr. old and farmed all his life, so I drove my 1950 (green and yellow) over to his house. His smile was soooo big. It did me alot of good , too.

Ed: Sure sounds like it was a nice day weather wise across a great portion of North America. It was just nicely freezing here in SW Ontario at 7 am. Sun was out all day and temperature rose quite nicely for this time of year. I got the Farmalls all out, did some yard work. If it holds for next couple of days I may get my vegetable garden plowed yet. Have to go away tomorrow, an auction on Sat. and company coming Sun. Some where in there, must be time to plow 1/2 acre. We also planted some tulips today, better late than never.

I spent mine replacing a busted planetary on 664C clark skidder, in the rain. Cowman, I would have traded you a few cast covers for planetary. They were very proud of it.

Pulled the carb off of the Super C, trying to get the floats adjusted right since the rebuild; I bent them down and stopped the flooding, now it's dying after a few minutes, but with choking it cranks right back up.

Ed looks like he's having a lot more fun with Broomer!

What's that device, make and model you have on the front there? I've been looking for something like that for both our leaves and as an after-plowing sweeper for our driveway.

Thanks,

Dave

Dave, it is a Sweepster that I found in a junk yard. I adapted it to the Cub and it works great! I would be happy to send you pics of it if you like. Email me direct and I will send them to you. Happy New Year! Ed.
