I have a 350 Utility That the T/A is out. I know that I can get a new unit from Steel Wheel Ranch, but money is tight and times are hard. The tractor is pretty much useless the way it is. I know that not all 350U's came with T/A. Where can I get the shaft that runs straight through and just do away with the T/A for now? Will an input shaft from a H or M be the same or not? Will this effect the operation of the live PTO? What is the factory part number of this shaft? Is there more to it than just a shaft? If so, what other parts will I need? I know that this is alot of questions, but I need this tractor useable as economically as possible. Thanks for the help, Todd.

Todd, I have a center section with standard trans (no ta) and has live PTO. E-mail if interested. Jim

When I got my 300u a few years ago, the ta did not work. But the upper end range did. The TA is the low end for each gear. I think your clutch might be gone. I have been wrong tho. Irv

Why is the TA preventing you from using the tractor? half the tractors around here need a TA rebuild, but most owners don't bother fixing it.

Todd: There is nothing from an H or M that will fit, completely different chassis. Your best bet would br find a 300 or 350 without TA at a scrapyard and buy the parts. From discussion on this forum, a lot of tractors in the deep south were sold without TA. I suspect the parts may cost you close to cost of fixing the TA. Worth a try though.
