In memory of Bob, how about us posting some safety tips? Ill start...
1. Never raise your loader bucket above the tractor when moving or on a steep hill.
2. Always go slow and look behind you when dragging something. Use lots of chain so if it catches and flips, it cant reach you. For something like a log, hook on one end, never in the middle.
3. Slow down to make a sharp turn. Especially with a narrow front end.

Guys,
In addition to Dicks backing onto a trailer....put Drop Legs on the back of your trailers, or use Blocks, IE..Pieces of RR ties. To keep the front end of these ol trailers rearing up, and sometimes off from the truck!
Later,
John A.

When loading a tractor onto a trailer or truck, ALWAYS back up and drive down. If the drive wheels are uphill, an overturn is much less likely.

Going down is as dangerous as going up. If you try to back down ramps and hit the brakes, the tractor is very prone to flip.

ALWAYS back up and drive down.

Never get off the tractor with the PTO running. Never!
Never allow anyone to ride on the drawbar if there is an implement or wagon hitched on.
Never attach logs or anything to the wheels if you are stuck. Go get someone to pull you out.
It is safer to go up and down hills than to go along the side.
Lock the brake pedals for road gear use, but first be sure the brakes are adjusted so both pedals operate at the same level.
Always shut off the engine when gassing up. Stray sparks from old plug wires can ignite fumes. Shut off the battery charger before removing the cables, or a spark may ignite the hydrogen fumes from the charged battery.
If someone is hitching up an implement or wagon to your drawbar, have the tractor in neutral and the clutch up before they get between the tractor and implement.

When ever starting, make sure the clutch is IN, the gear selector in in Neutral, and the brakes are depressed. as well that that the PTO is not engaged

never put yourself in a situation where yo uare between machinery and a wall...

When working on, or around Tractors or machinery, always watch for others, and leave yourself a "way out" in any and every situation should something unexpected occur..like stopping 5 or more car lengths behind the car in front of you at a stop light when its raining, never know when the person behind you is going to skid, wouldnt it be nice to be able to give them an extra 50 feet?
