Better look in Photo Ads for another one and use that one for parts, Pride might want you to make it work again, but pocketbook ought to be screaming to you for better sense. I know, I'm doing the same thing.....(Never did have any sense.....

You are the man. I restored an AC B that was in similar condition 20 years ago.....got that out of my system! But the feeling of satisfaction when you turn something that far gone around is really something.

In picture 10, there is a pipe running up the side of the left front of the engine....what is that? Mine has a generator there.

How is the tranny? was it dry? It also looks like the tires are holding air....is that so? since that tree looks a number of years old, it must have been sitting a long time.

I have some pictures from my brake replacement....I'll be posting them soon. My BN sat outside for awhile, but I don't think as long as yours. There is no gasket on the axle housings, so rainwater leaked into the area where the bands are, and eventually clogged the bottom with rust. This let the housing sit in water, eventually rusting the brake bands in half. Unfortunately, I don't have a heated shop, so replacing the brake bands are as far as I got this fall. We'll get to the rest come spring.

By the way.....was this a relatives? What is the story on it's history.

Take Care
Steve

Steve, the pipe is someone's redirect of the exhaust pipe. Look at picture #13 and you'll see where it was butchered. I haven't even looked at the transmission or rear end yet, I've just been focused in pulling the engine and checking it out. It sat without any coverss on the crankcase vent or air cleaner, so it is a solid ball of rust inside.

Only one of the tires was holding air, but the front tire is still serviceable and will take a tube. The owner gave me a set JD wheels with 9-24 tires that are like new, so I'm good on rubber. Everybody's guess is that it sat there for 25 to 30 years for that tree to grow up through it like that.

I was given the tractor by the current landowner for helping her clean up a pile of old farm equipment left by several previous owners. She has no history on the tractor, I'm still asking our neighbors what they might know about it. The tractor sat there, less than 3 mile from my home all this time!

I have just learned where there are 2 other Bs in that I might get for parts, I'll keep posting my progress on the restoration.

Greg

Greg, It certainly defines "Fence row restoration" doesn't it? If it's any consolation, I've seen worse come back to life. Good luck and do keep us posted on your progress.

That's kinda like what my Super AV looks like right now...it's in a million pieces! Did you get the motor unstuck yet? Keep up the good work...it will run again!
