I have the following Farmall listed on E-Bay for parts. The I.D. tag was destroyed during a fire. Is there some other way to date this poor beast ??>Link

All>Link responses are appreciated. Ed in 'ole Virginny

Check out the earlier conversation about "specific casting date" posted on 12/28/03 @ 5:50 to get an idea how to closely date a Farmall.
Locate a casting code on the rear end or some other larger part to find the alpabet letter and correlate that to the year
K = 1941, L = 1942, etc.

I do know that most of the Letter series tractors had a number on the engine block just below the plugs that matched up with the serial #. I had to Identify my H Farmall that way. If it was made in the 50's you may not be able to do this.

The H is that way. It should be the same unless someone changes the engine.

The front bolster are suppose to have a date code on them somewhere. But the engine serial number should be good enough.
