The loader should operate slower when going through the tractor hydraulics than going through an PTO mounted pump that is designed to be used with a loader.Does it have the power to lift a load at low speed or do you have to raise the RPM to be able to lift a load?

YOu may have a pressure relief valve that is not seating well and causing a partial short circuit (hydraulic). There is one that attaches to the outside of the underseat hydraulic lift near where your left heal might rest. The other one is inside the lift at the right front corner. The seat and lift cover have to come off to access it.

Can't help you with your problem other than to ask what the gallons per minute are. Other than that how well does a 504 perform as a loader tractor as I am looking at one for sale. Good luck with your problem. doorguy

I have a Farmall 504 with a Great Bend loader. I have had it for 16 years and it works great. It will pick up a fully loaded 7 foot bucket of dirt to the very top of its stroke (8-9 feet). It is very stable with loaded tires and 16 wheel weights. The weak link is the aftermarket front end. I had to replace the mounting bracket once. Bolted connections on the front end have to be inspected and tightened every day.
