I purchased an H Farmall with the engine froze as my first project. After a week of having oil sit in the cylinders with weight on the crank, I have now pulled off the head. All the pistons weem to be low in the cylinders so apparently I must have a broken crankshaft or connecting rods etc. The thing that surprises me is that I cannot find the oil dipstick alongside the motor anywhere, apparently it was an early model and not made with one. Your thoughts?

The H has two petcocks on the oil pan to check the oil. They did not have a dipstick. As far as thge position of the pistons when two are clear up two will be clear down. If you stop in between that all four will be half way down.
