Folks: I had the local CaseIH delear pull the sleeves on my B so I could sanblast them before rebuilding the engine since the tractor has been sitting since the early 1980's. One of the sleeves was chipped when it was pulled it is about the size of half a dime. Is it ruined? If is is do any of you know where I can get a new sleeve? I want to reuse the M&W Power Add stepped head pistons that I have. Jim

Personally I would think it is OK to re-use as long as:
1. the O-ring is above the chip so water can't leak.
2. the rings don't come down past the chip - if they did they could catch and break.

Just my $0.02 worth.

The follow up comments on the chipped sleeve are interesting to me and also I would like to know how you got the picture in your message, I tried to do this a week ago and it did not work.

I chipped the sleeve when removing the sleeves on a stuck f-12 engine in about the same place I reused it and it runs just fine
