replaced gov,new spring,tractor fires right up to a high idle at the lowest notch,on the trottle,as I pull back the throttle there isnt the incremental speed there should be she just jumps to wide open,Ive been thru 476 archives,but I couldnt find any thing specifically applicable to this any ideas??

Unbolt the carburetor from the manifold but leave it hooked up to the governor tube. Work the throttle lever and see if the butterfly is responding according. If not, then unbolt the carburetor from the governor tube and make sure the governor shaft is going into the notch in the carburetor.

Also take off the angled plate and see if by chance the shaft going to the carburetor is disconnected from the horizontal shaft that feeds up from the main governor housing.

I had one on an M that was so clogged withdirt from carb to governor that the tractor would rev out and not slow down or respond to the throttle, I cleaned the tube out, lubed it with light oil and the tractor ran fine, the rood may have slipped out of the notch at the carb butterfly when you did the governor..... ..I agree with Red...Mike in Exeter Ontario

i would take another look at the link between carb and govenor, the part that passes through the tube.
