Ran into a 560 diesel for sale at a old farm and the farmer ask what I would give for it.Hasn't ran for about three yrs, tires fair.Neighbor told me he pulled it last time to start it.whats a fair price for it providing the engine turns over.I suspect it will be needing some work and quite possible a over haul.Just guessing will check out further tomorrow. Is a thousand to much? Thanks Butch

Butch, I bought one this summer from a guy that had disk his garden and a rod started knocking so he shut it off. That's where I bought it in his yard with disk still hooked up, where he had mowed around it since March. I hooked a backhoe to it and pulled it to the road and had it running in about 40'(it was a rod knocking!),backed on the trailor and went home. It had a wide front, fast hitch,3 pt adapters, and a 4 bottom plow he gave me with it. Oh yea I asked what he wanted for it he said a dealer told him between $400-$500 was what it was worth so he would take the first $450 so I wrote the check. But this was a once in a lifetime deal for me (it just don't work that way!) By the way I had to put a new crank and bearings, and one rod but it runs good now.

Those old engines can be costly to get running right. If not wanting to pull in pulls or start in really cold weather there are lots of them running aound with 10,000+ hours and doing just fine. I would say $1500 if the tires will run for a while and the hydraulics work.

Well if the tires are good its worth at least $500 I'd offer him about $700 and see where it goes, you can end up with $2000-3000 in it just to get it up in to good runnig shape

sounds about right but plan to put a lot more in it! You might do better to buy a good one.
