Just put a 12 volt system with alternator on my 1948 M.D. Iam trying to figure out which bulb(12 volt) would replace the old 6 volt. Any help would be much appreciated.

I converted my M to 12 Volt as well. Any regular turn signal bulb at NAPA will work. You know, the ones that are in a pack of two in the electrical aisle... Work great, be sure to have a fuse though as any surge will kill the bulb in a heartbeat.

A turn signal bulb is not a subsitute for a headlight bulb, not near enough candle power.
12 volt headlight bulbs are available from NAPA or any good auto parts store.
