The dust shield at the bottom (Between the front wheels) of the tractor I am working on is not nearly as good as the one on a parts tractor I have. My question is,How hard is it to get this dust shield off? Would swapping bolsters be better? I really don't want to do that. Thanks ,John.

Just unbolt the two nuts on the Radiator, and the two on the crank bearing and it slides right off. No need to take off the bolster. If you are talking about the radiator dust shield between the radiator and the bolster.

john, just take the nut off the top and loosen the cultivater shifter levers and the shaft will drop out the bottom. but you either have to dig an awfully deep hole or else raise the tractor with a loader. I like to take the whole bolster off and lay it down. the bottom bearing can be tricky cuz it is just loose balls.

Thanks,I was wondering if anybody understood what I was talking about. I've got the frontend off of the good tractor and only two bolts holding the bolster on the parts tractor. It sounds like the hard part is done. John.
