Bought a carb kit off of one of those young know it all guys and finally figured out the high speed jets were for a distillate tractor. Made some new jets but can,t find out how big to drill them. Anyone out there know the specs for high speed jets on a Marvel Schebler TSX 157. This old boy won't give me my money back because I used the parts and I can't find jets without buying a whole new kit. I am done with a total rebuild on this tractor and ready to drive it and post some pictures. Please help if you can

Steve,
I don't claim to be an expert on carbs, but as I recall, the distillate/kerosene carburetors had an adjustable main jet. Most (at least those I have manuals for) call for screwing the main jet needle out 5 or 6 turns to operate on gasoline. This effectively removes the needle from the metering system, implying that the jet is drilled for gasoline and the needle is used to compensate for varying gravity heavy fuel. I guess what I am getting at is I don't think a distillate jet would cause you problems. Perhaps your difficulty lies elsewhere. What are the problems you are experiencing?
Regards,

Might work ok, but the gas and distillate/kerosene jets have different part numbers.

Well, good thing I didn't claim to be an expert since I didn't check the book. The Zenith carbs do list different jets for gasoline or distillate/kerosene. However, it would seem I got lucky on the M-S as it only shows one main jet. Admittedly, it lists it for gasoline, but it is the only one. Different ecomomizer jets were used for the two fuel types. The main jet adjusting screw is shown for the distillate/kerosene tractors only. I guess my lesson for the day is he who lives by the parts book dies by the parts book. Good save, CNKS. By the way, my parts book is TC-26F. Other versions may well contain different information

Kinda dumb they won't order you the proper kit and just swap the jets around. Especially since it was their fault. but then again they are pretty busy with guys and their $200,000 maxim quad tracks.
