Repainted, runs fairly good but I think needs a tuneup. The TA is good, good 14.9-38 rears, fenders, drawbar roller. Overall a pretty decent tractor. The grill needs a little work but I don't plan to anytime soon--this is more a work tractor than a show tractor. I also bought 3 sets of rear wheel weights for $60/set.

Also on the block was a 1066 IH, duals(all tires nearly new), weight bar on the front but no weights, 4 sets rear wheel weights, 4600 hours. It went for $8500.
There was also a 986 which was had duals(50%?), 3 sets rear weights, 4-6 weights on the front. 2800 hours, it brought around 13,000 if I remember right. All were well cared for.

Mike

PS there are pics on the fotki site below. Sorry about the quality, I took them over thanksgiving in a snowstorm after dark....

Greetings, A good looking smta in the pic. A well cared for smta will give you many years of service and enjoyment. My Dad bought A new smta gas in Jan. 1955 for $2250.00. A couple years later He bought a smtad at auction. These tractors were well cared for, but worked very hard, often overloaded pulling a IH #60 4-14 plow or a 13' disc and cultipacker over fresh plowed ground. There was never any concern about using the TA or not. They were both rebuilt in the mid 60's with the 450 kits and new clutch and TA, the heads were checked and no cracks were found. They still work regularly on His farm. Sorry about My rambling. Just trying to say these tractors are what Farmalls are all about.
