Joe, Don't know how much difference between the 560 brake and the SMTA. I have greased the balls lightly; left them dry and currently using silicone for lubrication. So far the silicone seems to provide the necessary lubrication, prevents rust and corrosion, and does not acccumulate dirt and other foreign material on the ramps and balls. Before applying the (spray on) silicone, I pollished the ramps and balls. The springs are available if they need replacing. Also, remove any burrs on the splines with a file or die grinder. As far as the drums, if your brake action is sufficient, inspect them occassionaly to see if the cracking is progressing. Tom
