I recently bought an H" 1947 and it has an M" carb on it. It seems to run good but dont know why it was put on. Any ideas? It has the flat pistons in it, but nothing else seems different. More horses maybe? Thanks

I have an early 40s something H that has a super H engine. Could it be that yours is the same way?

You may have a Super H manifold and carb. The super carb looks like an M carb.

I should have referred to a 300 carb and manifold instead of the Super H.

Will: No you were correct. Super H carbs and 300/350 carbs use same manifold as M-400. They are basically the same carb with the 300 having newer updates I.E. Idle adjusting needle position.

Well they may share the same carb as a M-400 but I would bet good money that they do not share same manifold.

Well it may have added a horse or two or maybe it was put on because they had it and wanted to try it. I've thought about trying things like that at times just to see if an engine would run stronger/better.
