I have a 460 utility with loader. Last snow i went to get it to clear the driveway, and it fired right up but the loader wouldn't budge. After the snow melted it warmed up some and i took the plug out of the bottom of the rear, and got a little water. (1/2 cup?) It snowed the other day and i thought with the water drained it would work. But it didn't. Will changing the oil work? Or do i have another problem? Hydraulics work good when it is warm. Thanks for the help.

Look at the color of HYTRAN in rear frame & hydraulic system, it should be a caramel color with no milky or calf-sh*t color, if you havent changed it in a few years that sounds like your problem, somehow get it thawed out and drain and refill with Hytran or good equivalent, also change filter, water in suspension is stopping flow through hyd pump circuit, water always in lowest part and this is the intake for system, very common on 460/560/660 after 1st cold spell. Op manual will tell you to change Hytran yearly and this is why.

Josh: Another possibility could be dried out o-rings around the oil intake tube inside the transmission. The o-ring dries out enough that the pump sucks air rather that oil. Sorry I do not know what is involved I have not had the pleasure of fixing this problem but I know several who have.
