I got this 240 w/ the hydraulics out of it .The pump was shot so I got a new one .I have completely tore down and cleaned the vavle bodies.
For some reason I can't get the pump to pick up prime.Any ideas? Thanks Chuck K.

Chuck, I have a 340 that looses it's prime whenever it sit for a month or more. I start the tractor and while it's running I crack the output line at the first fitting out of the pump. Mine's the upper line of the two, near the rear of the engine on the brake side. I'm able to hear it start picking up oil then when she gives a little shot I tighten it back up. Here's hoping yours is the same. PUTTER

The were some posts along this line awhile back. If I remember right they suggested that you loosen the lines where they go in the pump and bleed the air out of it. You will need to make sure that the fill plug is loose/removed so that air can enter the hydraulic unit. Sounds simple from here since my tractors are over 100 miles away.
