Safety Question for 450 Owners

Since I converted my 2-point to a 3-point hitch and attached a grader box, climbing on or getting off from the rear is not as safe. Has anyone added steps to climb on and off from the front? I have set out the fenders with spacer plates and it looks like enough room to add steps. Would steps from a later Farmall model adapt without much modification? I realize this seems anti-Farmall, but I do not mend as quickly as I did in the 1950's. Any ideas would be welcomed.

Tom, Whatever it takes to facilitate getting us "Geezers" on our tractors seems like a fair and legitimate add on as far as I'm concerned, 3 point or not. I know that I huff and puff, moan and groan, and knees crunch and crick every time I mount my "H". (No smart remarks here guys) There's a step design floating around in my head right now, and I'm sure it will become a reality by spring. Actually, I think for the 460's and 560's, the step design of the 806 can be made to work for a front mount, and as Hugh said, add a handle or 2 so you have something to grab hold of. If it ain't exactly "Farmall", who cares..... I wont tell. It sure beats falling or worse yet, (well, maybe worse yet) hesitating or questioning whether you want to get on the tractor to begin with.

Guys, thanks for your comments to help confirm I need to find a better [safer] way. I hope to keep the addition of steps IH as much as possible.

Tom: I had steps on my 560 years ago. I had them on clutch side, and at the platform I filled it in to about 1' in front of clutch pedal. I placed a step just below linkage for clutch and had handles on hood as well as fender. I had to fabricate everything, the chassis on the newer tractors with steps is different. Good move, old bones just cant stand climbing over a 3 point hitch.

I wasn't so old back then, just that I had a 656 and a 1066 at same time and that made me realize there is a better way. It worked so well I almost did my 300, but it didn't have fenders.
