Is a W-30 the same as a Wheatland 30? Just double checking. And are they rare in central IL. My Dad called and said someone offered him one this morning but the killer is (according to him)he told the guy no he didn't want it and hung up on him!!Dads is slipping a little bit these days but he has never talked about a W-30 before so I think its true. Hopefully he will call back.

The W-30 was rated 30 hp at the belt pulley & about 19 hp at the drawbar. Same engine used as in the F-30. The W-30 had a similar engine as the 10-20. I believe the bore & stroke are identical, but there were major changes elsewhere. Depending on the options, it will weigh around 4700 lbs.

Shaggy, a W-30 looks almost identical to a McCormick 10-20. They were the standard version, of the F-30, and pretty much an improved 10-20. The main visual difference was, that they didn't have the side, engine panels.

I'd guess he's talking about the same tractor. It is the standard tread version of the Farmall 30. They are kinda scarce anywhere.

Standard tread, thats like a W-4. I have never seen one. I should go and talk to Mom and see what she say's or check the caller ID. Thanks

Yes, but a W-30 is bigger. A W-30 is about the same size as a W-9. I suggest you get Guy Fay's IH Tractor Data Book. It $12-15 at Tractor Supply and elsewhere.

The W 4 would be a closer match to the W 30 then a W 9.

W-30 would be between the W-6 and W-9 in size. I'll try to check my books tonight for actual weight and HP.
