I have a friend that just picked up a H . He mentioned it had a cable going into the housing below the clutch housing ,he thought it may be something for the hydrulic but I got to wondering if it might be a 9 speed or something similar not acquainted with them and not sure if they were used on a H . He doesn't have it running yet so not able to tell by using it. Just curious, sure someone will straighten me out on this thanks you all..... .

yes it is the m&w 9 speed. we have a 51 H with the 9 speed-it has the cable running into the transmission housing somewhere below the belt pulley. it had a large decal on the gas tank with the gear pattern when we got the tractor..it was barely legible so we painted over..

My H has this cable it changes the M&W 9speed transmission gears. After 4th gear you can pull the cable and go to 1st and on up forfaster speeds .5th stays the same.
