560 hydraulics screeching noise

The hydraulics appear to be under maximum load. There is no hydraulic hitch, but when I connect a short hose in a loop between 2 remote outlets and pull the lever associated with those outlets to allow fluid to flow in the loop, the noise lessens substantially and the engine unloads. Could this be a pressure valve stuck? If so, where would I look? and is it something easily fixed? The hydraulic filter was badly plugged. Could this have caused it? I can't test it now because the tractor is split for complete overhaul, etc. The power steering also did not work.

I have that problem occasionally on my 560. What happens is the valve that you use to change from single action to double action gets bumped or vibrates around so that it is somewhere in between the two position. The one that bothers for me is just in from of the shift lever close to the platform. Hope your problem is that simple.

Joe
my 624 had a problem which I thought was the Hydraulic pump.
After reading articles on this site I realised it could be a plugged filter( I had lost power steering as well from the same pump).
The filter was really blocked, after a good clean and reassembly everything worked perfectly-and there was no noise!
I think you will find the problem fixed when all is back together.

Good luck

Alont
