I've decided that my newly required H will probably be a light use/parade tractor given it's outstanding condition. I have the opportunity to purchase a Int 444 with new tires, clutch, 40 hp engine, in excellent condition. The asking price is $3450. What do you guys think?

I've seen these 444's bring anywhere from $2100-$4400 depending on the condition and location. Might check ironsearch.com (search for tractor, "International", "444") and see what the market is like for this model. Might be a good benchmark.

My friend bought a low hour 444 a couple years ago and loves it. I do not know what he paid for it.

Oh Oh Griz you better watch out or you will end up tractor poor like me :-)
Then you will want to do some ones hay just so you can have reason to buy some more tractors.
Then you will get a plow and for sure need the tractor that was meant to run it.
Then you see one with a truck frame like Nebraska Cowman and have to have it because its different.
Funny thing about these old tractors.

Now kelly, how do you know when you have too many tractors? I subscribe to the theory that if I never count them I will never know how many I have!

Too many tractors ? Not a problem. But running out of shed space to park them is a problem :)

the 444 is a neat little tractor. I'd say go for it. They get 2800 out of those little fords and they never were much.
