Have a Farmall 240 that is currently a narrow front that I would like to change to a wide front for more stablity and better in snow, how hard is it to switch front ends?

I just did one on my 400 and its just like what you can invision its like.
Well that is untill you start it. It looks like block up tractor- Remove these 4 bolts- remove lower bolster- Bolt steering linkage to pivot shaft- bolt WF to frame. WaLa your done.
HAHAHA yea right. All the bolster bolts are going to be a bear to get loose. One will spin and you have to figure out how to get a wrench on the top of it. The holes in the frame are full of hard dried mud maybe from mud dabber homes. You need to get them cleaned out. A small wire brush on a drill works good for this.
You then need to hold the WF up to the frame and hook the linkage up then the WF to frame.
A cherry Picker works good.
Of course the holes dont exactly line up. Some soring of the holes may be in order.
All in all not hard just might have to solve a few issues when doing.
