Just picked up a litte IH powerunit with a four cylinder Continental engine. Has a flat-belt pulley output. Engine is thermo-siphon, i.e. there is no water-pump. Anbody know the size and horsepower of the engine? Looks about the same size as the Hercules in my Cletrac HG. The engine tag reads: Continental Motors Corp TY69 96404 Casting on engine block on carb. side is 69A-405 Carburetor is a Carter 852S.

Any ideas on this one? I have a IHC 4 cly powerunit that looks like a cub engine. The only thing I can read on the tag is 50B 4824. It has an IHC carb and a IHC mag. Any info would help.

That unit was built before Cub engines became available in 1947. It is very nearly the same size and power as the Cub. If the flat belt pulley is at right angles and without a clutch, it is from a baler.

Hi! your Cont. engine is 69 cubic inches. N62 (62 CID)Cont. engine has about 9 or 10 HP.Probably came off a baler or pull type combine. I have one that I am currently using as the power plant for a home made tractor. It's looking good and I need to finish it if I ever find the time..... .oleblu

For a $100, I picked up an IH/Continental stationary engine, stuck, with all the parts that attach to the back. Where do I start witht his thing? Is there literature that might provide a better picture of parts, etc.? This unit has no starter. I cannot tell the hp of the
engine. It is a flathead.

Thanks!
