I have a 300 U with TA (and loader) that has a clutch that is very hard to depress. I have lubed it everywhere it moves but it does not seem to help. I have looked at the changes IH made on the 350 U and see that the pedal pivots at a different spot. Has anyone on this site changed to the 350 U arrangement? If so is it worth it? Thanks

The 350 design is somewhat better & can be changed over.If you can find a donor tractor with all the necessary parts at a resonable price it might be worth it.Don't expect a major improvement though,it's never going to feel like one without TA,due to the fact that when you depress pedal you are releasing two pressure plates(TA)as compared to one(non TA tractor). If you like I can look needed parts up & also may have parts on hand.Send me an e-mail by clicking on TDK above.Hope this helps!

SteveK. We had a 300U which my dad bought new in 1955 and had the 350U style clutch put on it by the IH dealer in about 1957. The clutch does push down alot easier with the new style linkage. I would say it is worth the cost. I bought the 300U on dads farm sale in 1975 and still have it and use it to move snow with a 2 point blade and run augers. cbl in IA.
