Always use positive ground in the Southern Hemisphere. It is muy importante!

John,

Tell him to look at his battery "positive" cable and see where it is attached.

If it goes directly to the body of the tractor, he is positive ground. If it goes up to the starter switch, it is negative ground.

If it is still 6V (Three caps on the battery) it is Positive ground. If it's been converted to 12V (six caps or holes on the battery) it should be negative ground.
