I just bought a 560 IH gas, that is in need of an overhaul. I dynoed it and it turned 50 horse when it was warmed up. Had massive amount of blowby, but didn't spit and sputter. I pulled it a few times in the 10,000 pound class, and it would probably take it 1st gear, torque ahead. Most of the time I would use the torque. Never ran out of power unless 2ed gear torque back. Should I just put the dome pistons in it? What kind of horsepower would I have. Also, if I bored it out, what kind of horse would I have, along with what kind of different parts would I need. Just finished up the M, and now I have a new project. One more thing, if I bored the motor out, should I put it on the walls, and would that make it overheat if I did so? I found a reasonable place that would bore it, and I figure that I would have the money if you guys think that it would be right. Thanks!!

i do have a NOS set of the IH overbore pistons & sleeves for the 560 gas. These require reboring the block to accept the larger sleeve, and the pistons are stepped head pistons.

Can you oversize the piston any without boring the block. The person that owned my M before me put the oversize kit in in {4 in. medium domes}, but last winter my dad and I bored the motor to a 4 1/8. I didn't know if you could just put the domes in it, or have a thinner sleeve, but a bigger piston. Thanks for any help!!

IH and M&W made the overbore kits, and both required boring the block to accept a larger OD sleeve.
