I was out last night playing around with my new H and was admiring it's condition and all around appearance. Now, don't come down on me for making this statement, but I just don't think I can bear to work this machine. It's just too nice. At this point, I think it will probably be used for the local parades and to pull the haywagon around the farm when we have the school children over etc. Is this sacreligious?

Anyways, assuming the above thought does not get me shot what should I purchase next to be the farm tractor? Since I have the more antique style tractor I don't think I want to go the H or M route. I have don little to no studying on the other newer farmalls like the 460. If looking at the 300 on up series tractors what would you recommend? The tractor will be doing just light work around the farm and pulling a 5.5 foot bush hog. With me, the more power is always better and even if it's overkill, I don't mind! :)

What's your thoughts?

Griz

If you want a littl more modern tracotr for what you said, a 300/350 would work noce, or maby a utility that size. Handy with bush-hog type mowers, etc. Also the 240/340 were handyand I liked the looks of them.

you won't hurt the H working it. Regular use will be good for it.

cowmans got a good point it would probably love a good workout now and then. i do like the live pto's on the newer stuff though. i currently have a 460 utility and just love it but what your gonna find out if you get say a 300 or 350 utility is that they are kind of a cute looking tractor and you'll want to restore it then you'll be right back in the same situation your in right now.
