I picked up the H yesterday and what was suppose to be a 14 hour round trip turned into 18 but at least she is home and safe now! The seller, one of the few who still does, actually described the H to a "t" in his ebay ad. There was no surprises and he even loaded it for me. While I was there, he also had a JD A and B and a real nice M that he might sale. That M is a beautiful machine as he rescued it from a field and restored it. The 6 volt system started right up in 30 degree weather although I noticed that in addition to replacing the wires he is also running a 8 volt battery in the box. Is there any harm in that since this is a 6 volt system?

Does anyone know of a good place to find used implements for the 49 H where there is no 3 pt? I am needing a blade, bush hog and loader for this H. The loader he had wasn't worth the iron that it was made of. Rusted out and very dangerous in it's present condition. Thanks!

Griz

Just put a 3 point on it. Even if you find implements that will fit (not likely) you will get tired of changing back and forth. www.saginawcountytractor.com has excellent 3 points for about $700 including shipping, depending on the distance.

Griz,

Hey! Good job!

Bet you are glad to be home.....

You should start putting your nickels in a coffee can for the next one now, cause believe me, it is going to happen. :>)

I don't know if they came for the factory with an eight volt or not but I have never seen a M that did not have an eight volt in it. Gives it a little more kick.

Been there and done that. Either convert to a 12 volt or renew the 6 volt systmn. You will always think it is discharging and will need to charge it on occasion. It is difficult to find an 8 volt charger.
