Pete: Forgot to tell you; Throttle stop should be set 1.5 turns out from light seat of butterfly valve.

Pete: Farmall H's all the way up to the 856(c-301) carbs use the same starting specs. Idle needles turned 1.5 turns out from light seat, and fuel mixture needle 3 turns out from light seat. These are preliminary settings to be adjusted with engine running.

I set the upper screw at around 1 turn open, this is the idle mixture adjustment, fine tune after the tractor is running and warmed up, with the engine idleing.
The lower screw is the main or high speed mixture adjustment. I set it at around 3 turns open to start out, and fine tune with the tractor running, warmed up and with the throttle pulled all the up, remember that this screw works the opposite of most. if you want it richer then you have to turn it in.
Try these adjustments
John

the servicemans guide I have for my M calls for the main screw out 2½ -3 turns and the idle screw 1 - 1½ open I'd guess the H would be similar, At least it should start.
